I had no idea that this so refreshingly titled film, Green Fish, dealt with the darker matter of life. Particularly, life in Korea. 심혜진's makeup fittingly represented the 1997 style - I can confidently say "1997" without approximating the whole 1990s since it was the year I graduated from high school and I was keen about makeups then. But the actress's style was pretty much the only thing that gave clue to the film's age. Everything else appeared to be timely and relevant for 2010 in Korea -- all the bulldozing, buildings springing up haphazardly, while casting thick shadows over the lives of majority, innocent people. They could bring out the movie for a second round and see how much we have grown more disgusted or accustomed to the unceasing development and redevelopment work here. 

When all the rhetoric about capitalism and economy has won and that has pushed out the poor and powerless to the brink, what will the select group of remnants do in so many concrete covered spaces?  Just curious.
