우리의 소원은 통일?
어렸을 때는 "우리의 소원은 통일"이라는 노래에 쇠뇌되었던 때도 있었다.
대학 때 부터 진심으로 통일을 바라게 되었다. 나는 젊으니 죽기전에 한반도 통일을 볼 수 있으리라 생각했다.
그 후로 10년 쯤 흘렀나?
남과 북이 이야기하는 통일은 내가 생각했던 통일이 아니란다.
통일이 되어도 한 나라가 되는 것이 아니라 딴 나라 처럼 있을 수 있는 그런 형식인 것 같다.

문화 다양성 - 이거이거 벌써 어감부터 어색하다.
모르겠다. 그냥 친숙하지가 않다.

2007년에 한국 거주 외국인 숫자가 100만명을 돌파했다.
서로를 통해 삶을 넓게 볼 수 있기를 바란다.

The Divided Koreas

I dream of taking a road trip from Seoul to somewhere in China someday. I won't complain even if the navigation hasn't paved the way for me yet.

For over half a century, this little peninsula where I was born and raised still stands divided. Allegedly the only divided nation or country, or whatever the politically correct term is, in the world.

Bread
I love bread. Period.

The Humanities
The rapid economic growth achieved in Korea in the past decades has garnered much praise around the world. But let's be cool in admitting the ills that preceded, accompanied, and followed all the fanfare. So, I propose that we do some non-money making, yet immensely beneficial AND profitable, studies in yeah, philosophy, literature, arts and the likes! Yippee~

Korean Food
The world would benefit to know and learn about the Korean food, and better yet, acquire the taste of it.

Cultural Diversity
I love this word, "diversity," but this is too cliche. But then, maybe not so much in Korea.
